Future Mobility

Transport is experiencing the greatest transformation since the invention of the car.

The mobility of today is diverse, with digitalisation creating new opportunities for a growing market and liveable cities. The ITS World Congress showcases ground-breaking products, projects and technologies – and presents possible applications to public and private transport and logistics.

The ITS World Congress is the largest event entirely dedicated to smart mobility and the digitalisation of transport.

In Hamburg, future mobility is not just a vision. In line with the city’s ITS strategy, more than 35 projects already explore today the potential of digital trends for the transport industry.

Hamburg is one of the first German cities to test autonomous and connected vehicles on a manufacturer-independent course right in the city centre. Other projects include smart parking sensors, traffic-light phase assistants and on-demand shuttles. Also the port develops and implements intelligent logistics solutions. At Altenwerder container terminal, for example, automated guided vehicles transport the containers to designated locations.
